What’s Up With The Dick Pic

Felicity Discusses The Dick Pic Phenomenon
Dick Pics – Comic Phoebe Robinson made http://wildnudists.com/tube/nudism/nude-russian-beaches.php , and it’s perfection! The assumption is that Sears now offers penis photographyprofessional photo shoots to create your dick pic. As a bonus, you may even have your penis reenact scenes from films like Of Mice and Men.
The mp4 ends with the salesman saying, Thus call today, make an appointment and get the graphics your dick, and the girls you barely understand, deserve.
With the rise of the Internet, has come the rise of the penis pic (no pun meant). While I am sure guys have long enjoyed creating organ selfie artwork, these days it’s never been simpler to take and share dick pics with anyone.
There’s really nothing wrong with penis pictures in and of themselves. Sending one can be a healthy form of sexual expression and I don’t believe a close up picture of a penis is obscene. Perhaps nothing demonstrates this better than a Tumblr site I discovered called Critique My Dick Pic. (http://critiquemydickpic.tumblr.com/)
The young woman that created Critique My Dick Pic, encourages people to send in their own dick pics for her to class. She’s not critiquing the actual organ, however. She assesses the artistic merits of the photo the angle, light, originality, backdrop, etc.
It’s totally weird, but kind of great. I’m all for helping guys take better dick pics because most of the ones I get are really awful, artistically speaking.
She is also quite body-favorable about it (“no size shaming”) and attempts to allow it to be different with people of color and trans* folk.
Dick Shooting a Selfie – A Dick Pic!
In a interview on salon.com, the creator is asked about the worst dick pic she’s ever personally gotten. She responds:
Every dick pic I Have ever had throw at me unsolicited is the worst dick pic I’ve ever gotten. It is f*cking obnoxious, and a few men do it constantly. I do not care how fantastic your cock is, guy, if I haven’t accepted to see it I ‘ll be nothing but unimpressed.
And so we reach the difficulty with the dick pic – it’s frequently an unsolicited jpg sent to strangers. As a non-consensual action, this kind of sexual harassment and male aggression has turned into a prevalent occurrence. Through social networks, dating websites and certain mobile programs, we’ve learned only how common it’s for men to engage in this kind of lewd behaviour.
I’ve received such photos on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. I actually wish I could un-see some of them (I won’t go into detail, but some were more than merely an erect organ.). Jordan has also received them on Facebook so I understand this happens to guys, too. But based on the sum of sexual harassment women deal with online, http://wildnudists.com/tube/nudist/nudist-camp-family-videos.php ‘m willing to bet this happens to women more than men.
A brand new Pew Research study of online harassment found that girls are disproportionately impacted by on-line sexual harassment 25% of young women ages 18-24 reported experiencing it.
What exactly is the driving force behind the dick pic happening?
The online sex research compiled by Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam in the novel,A Billion Wicked Thoughts, may shed some light on this common male behavior.
As we mentioned in our article on penises, they found that when it comes to online pornography, men seek out pictures of dick nearly as much as vulvas. This is regardless of sexual orientation. So if manhood are just as much of a sexual discriminative stimulus as vulvas, it’d seem sensible for guys to desire to photograph, look at, and share their own “equipment”.
In this salon.com post (http://www.salon.com/2011/06/02/crotch_shot/), Ogas is quoted saying:
Guys who send off dick pictures probably are not thinking at all, they’re responding to an unconscious, evolutionary impulse likely inherited from our primate ancestors: man monkeys and apes routinely show their manhood (usually erect) to females to indicate sexual interest.
So in evolutionary terms, the cock pic guys are basically acting like monkeys.

Others theorize that guys send cock pics because they mistakenly believe women share precisely the same visual cues as them. So if guys are turned on by genitalia, they believe women must want to see theirs, too. And why success on her with words when you can just send a dick pic?
In reality it appears many women are disgusted, amused or bored (if the sender is non-threatening) upon seeing a random dick picture. Are there girls who love dick pics? Sure, absolutely. But I am still going to go with the idea that guys mainly send cock pics for their own satisfaction and enjoyment and not with a girl’s sexual desires in mind (unless the woman has really asked for them).
It should be noted that sending dick photographs is certainly not a nudist pastime. Anyone sending them is acting from a sexual or exhibitionist urge, not because they are a naturist (or claim to be).
Naturism appears to pull exhibitionists, but a distinction must be drawn between family naked videos . Exhibitionists expose themselves to other people for their own sexual gratification. Naturism is about nonsexual social nudity. Anyone who forces their dick pics or naked photographs on others, is not welcome at FKK or in naturist settings.
What I expect we’ve learned here is that there is nothing wrong with sending photos of your genitals to consenting individuals. This could be a healthy form of sexual expression or as exhibited by the website, artistic self-expression. Unsolicited dick pics, however, are most unwelcome and constitute harassment. Perhaps society will evolve to the point where the penis will not be so taboo, and individuals can learn to just share dick pics in a wholesome, consensual way.
We’re not monkeys, after all.
